The women in the village already have background in meat processing and this project will put their skill to good use. They will offer door-to-door delivery service within the surrounding neighborhood and also special delivery to retails stores or meat shops that are interested in selling the product. Growth potentials include processing additional meat products, catering services and retailing to large grocery stores.

Industry: Bag Industry

Social Enterprise: THE DRESSER DRAWER

CEO: Carmela Deang

Business Associates: Dawn Chua, Cookie Enriquez, Cy Fermin, Val Gatdula, Roy Lim, Mario Marcelo, Ryan Pascual, Rachelle Uy, Ian Yao

Team HP's primary concept is recycling ukay-ukay or even the customer's own long forgotten clothes and turning them into fashionable bags. Ensuring uniqueness in every bag since ukay-ukay clothes aren't produced in bulk hence the customers won't find a lot of similar pieces. Furthermore, if they decide to use their own pieces of old apparel this again guarantees uniqueness since it infuses their own unique style into the bag. Affordability and sustainability are guaranteed since the raw materials are low-cost compared to ordinary cloths purchased as being a somewhat of a basic commodity. The GK village of Sitio Ruby Phase 1 is home to a variety of skilled bag makers.

The group believes that all people deserve products of natural integrity that not only taste good, but are good for the body as well. The production of monggo chips does not require any specialized tools and is simple. It follows the same process of making tortilla chips except that the flour is substituted by monggo beans which have been dried and grinded.

By revolutionizing a popular food item that can be inexpensively manufactured, the group is creating a dual-win situation in providing the community with a business opportunity and making a healthy and enjoyable product available to everyone.
