GREAT NEWS: The business is already operational and the village has expressed willingness to make it grow further.

	GK EXPO (Oct. 25-27) 1st Area Visit The teams were able to showcase their social enterprises at the GK EXPO held at the Mall of Asia open field last Oct. 25-27, 2007.

Team Pangkat Angat Update!

Team CEO Mich Go reports on the recent developments in GK Laura and their "Heavenly Bliss" home service spa:

*Team Pangkat Angkat had the masseurs and nail specialists trained.

*The team has also procured additional financial support through solicitations.

*The money provided by AMA (5k) and ASOG (10k) has been used for training.

*The team has already processed the papers for the Cooperative and has appointed the members of the Board of Directors. Tito Danny, their GK caretaker from CFC, is the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

*Uniforms and complete sets of nail care paraphernalia for each of the masseuses have already been provided.

*Handbooks for the members of the cooperative have also been made available.

*5 gallons of massage oil were received from GBC Business Ventures Corporation.

*Flyers and posters have been printed and distributed. However, because of limited financial resources, we were only able to print 100 copies. Nametags are also ready for printing.

*The masseuses and nail care specialists have a "passport" including copies of their NBI Clearances, and trainings certificates which they present to the clients. The passport shall further certify their eligibility as professional masseuses and nail care specialists.

*We have been promoting, through word of mouth, in CFC Chapter Meetings.

*On March 29, at the CFC Cluster event which will gather 600+ CFC members, Heavenly Bliss will have a booth to promote and give massages. Pangkat Angat will also be there to give a short promotional spiel.

*A phone line has already been installed and is fully operational.

*The receptionist has been trained in all aspects of her job.

*NBI clearances have been secured by the cooperative members.

*Feedback forms for customers are available.

*We had a meeting with Ivan Quiwa from GK and he saw the potential in the business. He said that, in the future, Heavenly Bliss can be a prototype for other GK livelihood programs. He also said that GK is willing to help us raise funds for a multicab, a sterilizer for their nail care paraphernalia, a future office within the village, and other future needs. We only need to write another solicitation letter which shall be countersigned by GK. GK will then forward it to their partners and collect the solicitations. Ivan also gave us Tony Meloto's (GK founder) daughter's contact number because she has a complete nail art set which we could possibly ask for.

Kapit-KAMAy Panel Presentation

The teams will be presenting their business proposals to respected members of the Ateneo SOM faculty, representatives from the GK National and the Ateneo School of Government. This will be held at Rm. PLDT-CTC 217 (ADMU) on Nov. 12-13 from 4:30-6:00 pm. Interested parties are invited to watch the presentations.
