Furthering the Road to Social Change

People say that when you give man fish, you feed him for a day.Teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.

But why stop there?

Why not REVOLUTIONIZE the fishing industry?

Kapit-kAMAy: Social Entrepreneurship Challenge is a major non-profit project initiated by Ateneo Management Association (AMA) wherein we seek to help the less fortunate by imparting to them a working knowledge of business and entrepreneurship here in the Philippines. It is an amended and improved version of AMA's previous project called AKBAY, a non-profit project wherein AMA sought to provide a positive social impact on a chosen community under Gawad Kalinga.

The challenge is being participated by 8 teams consisting of 10 students. The Gawad Kalinga villages, which will be assigned for each team shall receive the corresponding profit generated by each team and more importantly, a sustainable means of living that will empower them to elevate themselves to a better life and a brighter future.

In Kapit-kAMAy, the teams work not for their personal gain. True, they are given the venue to exercise their management skills, but more importantly, their efforts translate to change which may give Gawad Kalinga villages the chance for a better life.

We all have important values and ideas, things we care about and want to share. Sometimes we feel our ideas can even change the world, and we want to let other people know how they can join in and make all our lives better.

Join us in helping others help themselves.
